Sea Lions & Tigers & Bears - Oh My! 

Last weekend, my girlfriends and I had a great time at the Bronx Zoo. We went to as many exhibits as 3.5 hours could allow us, bought some souvenirs and afterwards, stuffed our faces with pizza (yum!). 

If you're a native New Yorker and you've never been or if you haven't visited the zoo since your middle school field trip days, it's really worth the trek to the Boogie Down. 

The growing patience of your adult years really helps you to appreciate learning about the animals, because honestly as an 11 year-old, there was nothing more annoying than having to stand in one place too long - "Oh look, an animal!... I saw it!... Let's go to the next one!"

And if you have a dislike/hate relationship with crowds, like I do, you'll be glad to know that in the dead of winter you can enjoy a day at the Zoo with almost no one around (how romantic!).
There are plenty of indoor exhibits so you don't have to worry about sightseeing a bunch of rocks in the frostbite weather.

Mondays don't have to be sh*tty.

There are still Mondays when I cringe at the thought of starting the whole week over again, but I've noticed that lately I don't feel as cr*ppy about the work week as I once used to, and I owe a lot of that to the fact that I've practiced shifting my focus, from the negative to the positive aspects of the day (or the week) ahead.

I begin Mondays (and most days) by telling myself... "Today, I'm going to kick ass!

I think it's important to believe that no matter what comes your way today, 
you'll be able to overcome it. 

Remembering to focus on what you have, instead of what you don't and rerouting those negative thoughts back on a path of positivity will ultimately help you overcome this Monday dread that can often lead to anxiety or a mental breakdown. ( believe me, I know... )

So, why is this Monday happy? 
Here are 3 reasons why... 

#1 - KING's "Carry On" Music Video Dropped! 

Basically it's a love story between two kites... (at least, that's what I got out of it, lol)

I will say, the video visuals do a great job of capturing the dreamy feeling of the song.


#2 - House of Cards Season 4 is here! 

Just came out on Friday and I'm already on episode 8... (Can you guess what I'm doing tonight?)

#3 - Doing Big Thangs With Best Friends!

The best friend and I have been cooking up an idea to start a blog together. I'm finally buying the URL today, and we're hopefully launching it in the next week or two.

I can't wait to share it with you guys!
