When it rains, it pours...

Life's been picking up speed lately and I've got a lot of great things coming my way!~ The only trouble is blogging as sorta fallen by the waste side while I work on solidifying these great opportunities, so please excuse the choppy updates.

In the meantime, here's a quick foodie type update!~ :}

The Boozy Brunch!

A few weeks ago I went on a double date with a good friend and his long time girlfriend; we had a blast! Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was amazing, AMAZING! (If you haven't seen it already, make it a point to go. It's literally /)OoO(\ all the way through!) Even though my friend and I were introducing our significant others for the first time, we figured watching a movie first and chowing down after was the best approach, so after the film we walked a few blocks uptown and grabbed ourselves a table at Big Daddy's.

Their best description (and I'm borrowing it because there's none better) it's like a Johnny Rockets BUT they have this amazing thing called "Boozy Brunch" that's an EVERYDAY SPECIAL where you only pay $12 to literally drink all the mimosas, screwdrivers and bloody marys that your heart desires! SAY WHAT?!?! Yes, you read right, UNLIMITED DRINKS FOR $12!

Needless to say we all partook in the bottomless drink option & soaked it all up with some good old fashioned hamburgers. I got myself a Super Bad burger (chili, cheese & bacon - yum!) and some tater tots.

I rate my experience there a 5/5!
Not only was the food on point, but the service was phenomenal!

Blueberry Birthday Pancakes!

A week later, my boyfriend and I spent the weekend celebrating his birthday!~ We chowed down at Leña on the day of and had a late jazzy brunch at Pianos the next day. We ended the weekend on a relaxing tip and opted for some homemade chow.

Sunday morning I was in the mood for pancakes so I pulled up my favorite recipe, but I wanted to do a little something different this week, so I created a fresh blueberry topping!

Here's what I used:
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of fresh blueberries
  • 1-2 tablespoons of sugar
** I'd definitely use 1/2 cup of water instead; the cooking time will be reduced dramatically!

Grab a small pot, throw in all your ingredients and stir occasionally :) All-in-all it takes about 10 minutes to prep and cook, and then it's ready to coat your pancakes in fresh fruity flavor!

Got a favorite recipe? Feel free to share in the comments below!

Hope your weeks have been as delicious as mine!
Happy Wednesday!
